Our temporary home

David and I moved in to my dad and stepmom's place a week ago, after far more hard labor than either of us are accustomed to! It is so nice to have that huge step done, and it has been good to spend time with the family as well. Our lease was up on Aug. 31 and moving in with the parents saved us from having to pay another month's rent.

Our kitties - one-year-old sisters Sydney and Emma - are adjusting pretty well to their new home. They have a resident cat to contend with, an 11-year-old male named Dumas. Sydney runs and hides when he's around, while Emma (who is half his size) stares him down and hisses like she means it.

Above is our cozy little room at Dad's. Emma has packed herself in my duffle bag and is clearly ready to come along, but sadly the kitties can't join us just yet. We are moving into student housing to start out with, where pets aren't allowed. But we hope to be able to find pet-friendly accommodations and bring them over before too long. We adopted them as kittens just after getting married, and have grown quite attached!
