Just got a call from our realtor - they accepted my counteroffer! YAY!!! The house is ours! I'm so glad I counteroffered - we're thrilled to have the few extra thousand for all the move-in expenses.
So here's what happens next - we have 10 business days from tomorrow to have a home inspection (our realtor is working on scheduling that for Monday), address any issues with the owner that might arise from that, and probably get an appraisal as well. We can back out of the house at any time during these 10 days for any reason, but we don't expect to.
If all goes well, we are scheduled to close on March 31. We'll get the keys a day or two after that.
Woo!!!
We are very excited - we already spent an hour at Home Depot today looking at paint samples. :)
