Tomorrow we are off on our Easter holiday to Spain and Morocco, hooray! At the moment the weather doesn't look too thrilling for our first few nights - light rain and high of 57 predicted for Madrid. Humph. But we should be able to count on sun in Morocco, at least! Here is our itinerary, with hotel names in case you need to reach us:
Sat Mar 31: London Gatwick to Madrid on EasyJet at 1:20pm; Hotel Il Castillas
Sun Apr 1: Day trip to Toledo; Hotel Il Castillas
Mon Apr 2: Fast train to Seville (2 hrs); Hotel Alminar
Tue Apr 3: Seville; Hotel Alminar
Wed Apr 4: Train from Seville to Algeciras, with stop in Cordoba on the way; Hotel AC Algeciras
Thu Apr 5: Day trip to Gibraltar; Hotel AC Algeciras
Fri Apr 6: Ferry from Algeciras to Tangiers (50 min), brief look around Tangiers, train to Fes (5 hrs); Riad Fes Baraka
Sat Apr 7: Fes with day trip to Roman ruins at Volubilis; Riad Fes Baraka
Sun Apr 8: Train from Fes to Casablanca (4 hrs); Hotel Les Saisons
Mon Apr 9: Tour Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca, then train to Marrakesh (4.5 hrs); Riad Darhani
Tue Apr 10: Marrakesh; Riad Darhani
Wed Apr 11: Marrakesh to London Gatwick on EasyJet at 9:50am local time
We aren't bringing the laptop this time, but we may still post a blog or two from the road if an internet cafe presents itself. Happy Easter, everyone!
