We just had such fun watching the USA-Italy World Cup game! We rooted hard for the home team (so did our American neighbors), and the final score was 1-1. That's actually good news since Italy was heavily favored to win. And we played much, much better than when we lost to the Czech Republic.
But the great thing is that it was the most entertaining game we've watched yet (and we've actually watched most of them). It was insane chaos - three red cards (ejections), a bloody injury, a disallowed goal, an own-goal (yes, sadly our 1 point came off an Italian foot!)... and 1-1 before the half instead of 0-0 the whole time is always good. Here's our poor boy who got brutally and purposely elbowed in the face by an Italian jerk (who was ejected):
But he got bandaged up and was back on the field within minutes. Yeee-ah. So, yay us! Here's hoping we make it past the first round despite all the nay-sayers!
